One of the earliest socialist presentations I ever encountered featured a discussion about why socialism and communism consistently fail.

The explanation? Brace yourself:

"Real communism has never been tried."

This isn’t a throwaway line. It’s a cornerstone belief among leftists, a comforting mantra they repeat to explain away historical failures. They'll do it differently this time, having learned from their mistakes. Yes, it may sound nonsensical, but there is logic to their thought process that gives us insight into what they're trying to achieve with their Marxist utopia.
